With a large percentage of disabled animals left at shelters and later euthanized, I wanted to identify what raises barriers between special needs animals and potential owners. Lack of familiarity and doubt inspired me to create a series of posters to raise awareness, showing disabled animals in a positive light to destigmatize the idea that these animals cannot live a normal, healthy life. My main goal was to shine light on special needs cats, who have a high euthanization rate, and highlight how these animals still love like any other cat.
